Prof. Gian Trachsler

team

Gian Trachsler was born in Zurich in 1986 and grew up near Zurich. After graduating from the Liceo Artistico, he studied architecture at the ETH Zurich, where he later worked as an assistant to Prof. Andrea Deplazes. In addition to his main professional activity, he was a board member of the Kalkbreite cooperative in Zurich. In 2016, Gian Trachsler founded Studio Trachsler Hoffmann together with Daniel Hoffmann, which now has around 30 employees. The architecture firm is dedicated to the planning and design of construction projects on various scales in Basel and Zurich. The focus of Studio Trachsler Hoffmann's work is urban housing construction and the associated examination of the city as a living space. We are interested in the search for new paths in housing construction, whether in the transformation of existing buildings or in the typological, spatial response to the diverse forms of cohabitation.
